One of the hardest personal goals I’ve set for myself? Holding a bridge pose for 10 seconds. It may sound simple to some, but for me, it’s been a true challenge. Yoga has this way of humbling you, especially when you set goals that push you past your limits.
I choose to focus on practical things like this while I dream about bigger goals. It’s grounding. Holding a bridge requires strength, balance, and patience—qualities that don’t just apply to yoga, but to life itself. Each time I try, I feel my body stretch in ways that aren’t just physical. There’s resistance, a push against limits I didn’t know I had, and then, with effort, a little more progress.
For now, it’s 10 seconds. But those 10 seconds are symbolic of something more. They’re a reminder that it’s the small, daily challenges that keep us moving forward. It’s in those moments of effort, both practical and seemingly insignificant, that we learn the most about ourselves. And as I work on this, I keep dreaming—because those small steps build the strength to chase the bigger dreams.
